Oscar-winning Composer Chance Thomas to Deliver Keynote at GameSoundCon 2015

LOS ANGELES – AUGUST 19 2015 – Veteran game audio professionals as well as aspiring composers interested in a career creating music or sound for the videogame industry can hear Chance Thomas deliver the keynote address at GameSoundCon 2015 Tuesday – Wednesday, November 3 – 4, at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. Thomas is an Oscar and Emmy-winning composer with significant contributions to world-renowned films and successful AAA games, including DOTA 2 and Lord of the Rings Online.

GameSoundCon features hands-on training sessions for videogame music composition and sound design concepts along with networking events with renowned audio luminaries, providing attendees a deeper insight into the game audio industry.

GameSoundCon 2015 brings together some of the most critically-acclaimed award-winning audio composers and producers in the video game industry. This year’s lineup includes:

Paul Lipson, senior audio director, 343 Studios – composed award-winning scores for AAA titles including Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Halo: Spartan Strike and Bioshock 2

John Rodd, music recording engineer, freelance – mixed scores for games including World of Warcraft, Starcraft II and Call of Duty: Black Ops

Jason Graves, composer, freelance- composed scores for more than one hundred games including Tomb Raider, The Order: 1886, Dead Space 3 and Devil May Cry

Richard Ludlow, audio director, Hexany Audio – developed and designed audio for blockbuster films and games including Disney Infinity, King’s Quest and Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse

Laura Karpman, composer, freelance – four-time Emmy award winner, composed music for games including Everquest 2 and Halo 3

Stephen Schutze, director, Sound Librarian – created the official curriculum for students and institutions for FMOD Studio, an audio middleware engine for video games

Scott Selfon, senior development lead, Xbox Advanced Technology Group – composed music for television, film, and games including Titanfall. He is also on the advisory board of Game Audio Network Guild (G.A.N.G.)

Chip Beaman, director, Formosa Sound Group – participated in notable projects including Metal Gear Solid 4, the God of War series, Final Fantasy XIV and Assassin’s Creed

Attendees will be able to experience workshops in the latest game audio design tools including FMOD and Wwise in addition to intensive sessions, panels and classes that cover the essentials of game music. This year’s panels and session topics include: Essential Game Audio Tech, Game Music and Sound Design Tools and Navigating the Video Game Music Business.

Registration is now open through the GameSoundCon website. Early bird registration tickets are priced at $425, available now through October 2. Pre-registration tickets costs $575, available from October 3 – November 2. On-site tickets are priced at $625, available for purchase November 3 – 4.
